Been a while since I uploaded anything so I thought I would. This is a render I made about 2 years ago, just found it on my hard drive today. This was made for a final when I was still taking classes at Gnomon.
The purpose was to create a production still of a luxury watch that exists in real life, as if to be used for advertising. The class was kind of a creative technical lighting class. This image was made from scratch in Maya, Mental Ray, and Photoshop only using photos as reference. All textures or light cards were made in Photoshop from custom painted maps. The only exception being the band, which I used a scan of a real watch band for the texture. I lit this using no lights at all, only light cards and soft bounce boxes with Mental Ray Global Illumination and Final Gather. It ended up being more of an experimental learning project for me. I was pretty happy with the results.
Tools: Maya 2009, Mental Ray, Photoshop CS4
Total Time: 3 Weeks (with 5 other classes and finals)

wow..... awesome..... i m going to make my lighting demoreel .. pls will be greatful if u can guide me.. as we both work on maya and i m a student u are a professional.... loved it....
